Overview

• The collision happened shortly after 12:30pm near the intersection of Thomas Road in Armstrong, about 200km north-west of Melbourne.
• Three people—the driver of one car and two occupants of a truck—were pronounced dead at the scene, and two others were hospitalized.
• The pileup involved two cars, a B-double and two smaller trucks.
• Victoria Police have closed the highway in both directions between Ararat and Great Western, with a detour through Moyston via the Ararat–Halls Gap and Moyston–Great Western roads.
