Overview

  • A pre-dawn operation by GOES and Vigo’s UIP stormed a makeshift dwelling near Coruxo, arresting three of four suspects and seizing two simulated pistols and items linked to other thefts.
  • Judge Juan Carlos Carballal of Vigo’s Juzgado de Instrucción nº4 attributed offenses including robbery in an inhabited home, membership in a criminal group, illegal detention, injuries, fraud and motor-vehicle theft.
  • The court ordered provisional, communicated detention without bail for the three detainees after they were brought before the judge.
  • The fourth alleged member remains unlocated, and the operation stays open as the Guardia Civil leads follow-up probes into additional property crimes outside Vigo’s judicial district.
  • Investigators say the group tied and beat a 90-year-old in his Coruxo chalet on July 15, then returned three days later to steal a van later found abandoned in the Parque Forestal de Coruxo.
