Three Held in Tabasco Anti-Extortion Sweep as Sinaloa Clash Leaves One Dead

Officials describe intelligence-led actions under Mexico’s national strategy to curb extortion revenues.

  • The detainees were identified as Valentín de Jesús Rodríguez Hernández (“El Chupón”), Ulises Rodas García (“El Técnico”), and Francisco López Juárez (“El Sombra”).
  • SSPC said Sedena, Semar, the National Guard, FGR, and Tabasco authorities took part, and the suspects and evidence were placed before the Ministerio Público.
  • In a separate Sinaloa operation in Lo de Bartolo and La Guamuchilera, security forces repelled gunfire, detained three men, seized weapons and drugs, and reported one assailant dead, while media claims of CJNG links and a minor among the Tabasco detainees remain unconfirmed.
