  • Marathahalli police arrested Physics lecturer Narendra, Biology lecturer Sandeep and their associate Anoop on July 5 following a complaint lodged with the Karnataka State Women’s Commission.
  • The survivor alleges the lecturers exploited academic pretexts to lure her to Bengaluru before repeatedly raping and blackmailing her with intimate photos, videos and threats of releasing CCTV footage.
  • All three have been charged under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and remain in judicial custody after appearing before a Bengaluru court.
  • Police have informed the private college in Moodabidri and the state Higher Education Department about the case to review institutional accountability.
