Three Held in Ballenstedt Cannabis Raid as Cologne Police Uncover Camper Drug Cache

Prosecutors will decide on custody after evaluating the seized plants.

Overview

  • Cologne officers searched a camper in Mülheim on September 22 under a judicial warrant and found more than seven kilograms of hashish, over 150 grams of marijuana, and about 40 grams of cocaine.
  • A tip from the local drug scene led the case to the Schwerpunktgruppe Mülheim, which targets drug and street crime around Wiener Platz.
  • Investigators are working to establish who owns the camper and to trace the origin of the seized drugs.
  • In Ballenstedt, police executed a Halberstadt court warrant, detained three people provisionally on suspected violations of the Konsumcannabisgesetz, and secured multiple items of evidence.
  • Plants were carried out in sacks with support from the Technisches Hilfswerk, and prosecutors said materials are being analyzed as they withhold further details to protect the investigation.
