Three Held as Culiacán Raid Uncovers Clandestine Camera Network

The operation follows a campaign removing 2,619 irregular cameras.

Overview

  • Interagency forces responding to a citizen tip raided a home in Valle Alto and found a clandestine monitoring hub connected to irregularly installed cameras across Culiacán.
  • Authorities say the site manipulated cameras placed on public infrastructure and installed without authorization in businesses and homes to track movements of security forces and civilians.
  • Three suspects were detained at the scene and a vehicle, rifles, handguns, magazines, ammunition and marijuana were seized before the case was placed with the FGR.
  • Officials emphasized the hub was not linked to the certified C4i Sinaloa system, which they say has technical and physical safeguards against infiltration.
  • The SSPE reports 2,619 unauthorized cameras have been removed to date, with anonymous 089 reports and joint work by the National Guard, state police and the military driving the effort.
