Three Held After Ghaziabad Eatery Vandalized Over Food Bill Dispute

Investigators are reviewing CCTV recordings to identify additional assailants in the late-night attack at Apni Rasoi.

Overview

  • On June 7 at around 11:30 pm, individuals wielding rods stormed Apni Rasoi in Rajnagar Extension after a dispute over a food bill and began smashing restaurant furniture.
  • The attackers targeted two laptops, an LED screen and a billing machine and fled with Rs 1,760 from the cash counter.
  • Diners, including women and children, fled in panic and the entire episode was captured by the restaurant’s CCTV cameras.
  • Owner Akshit Tyagi filed a complaint leading to an FIR under IPC sections 352, 115(2), 324, 351 and 309(6) at Nandagram Police Station.
  • Ghaziabad Police arrested Rajdeep Tyagi, Anshi Tyagi and Monti Jaat from the Delhi-Meerut road on June 8 and are expanding the probe to find other suspects.
