Overview

• The accident occurred around 7 am on June 4 in Kekadi’s Visundani village as four family members worked on the roof of their under-construction home.
• Police report that water sprayed on a newly plastered wall contacted a live high-tension wire, electrocuting 50-year-old Kanwar Lal and fatally shocking Prema Devi and her daughter Maya Devi.
• Prema Devi (60), Maya Devi (45) and Kanwar Lal (50) were declared dead at a nearby hospital and their bodies have been dispatched for postmortem.
• Prema’s younger daughter, 22-year-old Tara Devi, sustained burn injuries and remains hospitalized in stable condition.
• Investigators are examining the wiring setup and safety protocols at the construction site to determine any lapses.
