Overview

• The three victims were identified as 27-year-old driver Yagnesh Waghela of Andheri, Pravin Kumar Singh (27) of Powai and Rajboli Mulla Shaikh (29) of Kurla.
• They left Mumbai on the evening of June 2 for a Trimbakeshwar pilgrimage and stopped for dinner on the Mumbai-Nashik Highway before losing contact.
• Officials say the car lost control at a sharp curve, struck multiple trees and plunged about 40 feet into a ravine.
• A herder discovered the wreckage and highly decomposed bodies on June 5 after the victims were reported missing by their families.
• Kasara police have registered an accidental death case, filed an FIR for negligent driving and are reviewing speed, road conditions and CCTV footage.
