• Three children were swept into the sea from steps near North Pier on June 15 after being caught out by an incoming tide.
• A quick-thinking passer-by waded into the water and pulled all three to safety before coastguard and beach patrol teams arrived.
• Each child received checks from the North West Ambulance Service and hospital staff before being released to return home.
• Lancashire Constabulary has warned that high tides can be unpredictable and extremely dangerous for beachgoers.
• HM Coastguard has urged visitors to check tide times, swim between red and yellow flags and supervise children at all times.
