Overview

• A 34-year-old man was found unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds on the 4000 block of West Wilcox Street late Thursday and was later pronounced dead, with the victim still unidentified as Area Four detectives investigate.
• Police opened a homicide investigation after a hotel employee in the Douglas neighborhood discovered a man, estimated at 25 to 35, fatally shot in a room around 12:35 p.m. Thursday at 11 W. 26th St.
• Officers at the hotel found a bullet hole in the bed’s headboard and a single shell casing, no one was in custody, and a neighboring guest reported seeing an unknown woman leave the room around 3 a.m.
• In Chatham, an unidentified man was shot multiple times inside a home shortly after 6 p.m. Friday and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition.
• Two firearms were recovered from the Chatham residence, and Area 2 detectives detained a person of interest for questioning.
