Overview
- A rear-end chain collision occurred on the Tiger Valley Bridge section of the Mumbai–Pune Missing Link Wednesday morning around 10 a.m., when three vehicles travelling toward Pune were involved.
- Police said a Toyota Fortuner stopped abruptly in the third lane, a Hyundai Verna hit the Fortuner from behind, and a third car then rear-ended the Verna, damaging all three vehicles.
- Highway Traffic Police, Borghat police and state road teams reached the scene, used cranes to remove the wrecks and restored normal traffic flow within hours.
- Authorities confirmed there were no injuries and listed the vehicles as MH 05 CH 3512 (Toyota Fortuner), AP 39 LW 9979 (Hyundai Verna) and MH 02 DZ 8640 (third car).
- The corridor is a high-speed, uninterrupted link under constant surveillance and police said the crash highlights the danger of stopping on the stretch as an investigation continues and motorists were urged to keep safe following distances.
