Three Azcapotzalco Raids Detain Eight, Seize 906 Doses of Apparent Narcotics

Prosecutors are determining charges following court-approved, intelligence-led searches.

Overview

  • Security forces from SSC-CdMx, FGJ-CdMx, Semar and the National Guard executed three simultaneous search warrants targeting suspected street-level drug sales.
  • The operations followed citizen complaints and surveillance that produced evidence presented to the Ministerio Publico, which secured warrants from a control judge.
  • Searches were carried out at addresses on Calle Abraham Sanchez in Ampliacion San Pedro Xalpa, Avenida Miguel Hidalgo in San Pedro Xalpa and Calzada de Los Angeles in Nueva Espana.
  • Seizures totaled 906 doses: 215 of apparent marijuana and 89 of a cocaine-like substance at the first site, plus 200 probable methamphetamine, 199 alleged cocaine and 203 marijuana at the other two, along with two cellphones.
  • Eight people were detained—five men and three women—properties were sealed under police custody, and one 51-year-old detainee has two prior penitentiary entries for narcomenudeo.
