Three Arrested in Delhi for Gang Rape of Odisha Researcher

The victim, a mentally ill woman, is undergoing treatment at AIIMS following the attack in the Sarai Kale Khan area.

The victim, a 34-year-old woman from Odisha, was found injured and bleeding on October 11, 2024, near Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi.
She was a researcher with eight years of experience in the social sector and had traveled to Delhi in May without informing her family.
Police arrested three men: Prabhu Mahto, Pramod Babu, and Mohammad Shamsul, after a detailed investigation involving CCTV footage and witness statements.
The victim, who was unable to provide detailed information due to her mental illness, was assisted by officers posing as social workers to gather crucial details.
Efforts to apprehend the suspects involved checking 700 CCTVs and more than 150 autorickshaws, leading to arrests between October 30 and November 4.
