Overview

• West Midlands Police said a shooting inside Mango nightclub on Bristol Street at around 3am left one man in critical condition and two men and a woman with less serious injuries.
• Officers arrested three people in their 20s and 30s a short time later from a car on the M6 in Warwickshire; they remain in custody on suspicion of violent disorder.
• Bristol Street southbound from Pagoda Island to Bromsgrove Street is cordoned off, and motorists have been asked to avoid the area.
• Acting Chief Inspector Michael Clarke said the investigation is moving rapidly and stressed the importance of dashcam and in-venue footage from witnesses.
