A 35-year-old woman died, and her 13-year-old son was injured during a stampede at the Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad on December 4, where fans gathered to see Allu Arjun at the 'Pushpa 2: The Rule' premiere.
Three individuals, including the theatre owner, manager, and security head, were arrested for negligence and failing to implement proper safety measures.
Hyderabad police stated that neither Allu Arjun's team nor the theatre management informed authorities about the actor's visit, which contributed to the chaotic crowd situation.
Allu Arjun has expressed condolences, offered ₹25 lakh in financial assistance to the victim's family, and committed to covering the medical expenses of the injured child.
Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma defended Allu Arjun, arguing that stampedes are unpredictable and responsibility lies with event organizers and authorities, not the celebrity.
