Overview
- Kent Police were called at about 12:10pm on 29 December to the A289 Gads Hill in Gillingham, where a male pedestrian in his 80s was struck and later pronounced dead at the scene.
- The vehicle involved was identified as a grey Mercedes estate that was found nearby after its occupants fled on foot, with the victim discovered on Grange Road.
- Detectives released CCTV images showing two hooded men, including one appearing to carry a number plate, as part of an ongoing evidence appeal.
- Three men have been arrested and remain in custody: a 29-year-old from Chatham, a 28-year-old from Edgware, and a 28-year-old with no fixed address.
