Threads Allows Account Deletion Separate from Instagram, No Plans for Direct Messaging

Meta's social media platform Threads now allows users to delete their Threads account without also deleting their Instagram account.
Threads users can now opt out of having their posts automatically shared on Facebook and Instagram.
Despite these changes, Instagram and Threads remain closely tied, with an Instagram account required to join Threads.
Threads reached 100 million users in just five days after its launch, but many users abandoned the platform due to a lack of important features.
Despite user requests, Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri confirmed that direct messaging will not be added to Threads.
