- A march in Barcelona on Sunday drew about 5,500 people on foot plus 150 cyclists and four tractors, organizers said and the Guardia Urbana confirmed.
- The protest was called by Plataforma Zeroport and backed by more than 200 civic, environmental and neighborhood groups to oppose a possible enlargement of El Prat airport.
- The national DORA III plan was approved this week and commits €1.76 billion to El Prat for 2027–2031 while allocating €191 million only for preparatory work linked to a potential future runway or satellite terminal.
- Demonstrators and local leaders warned the expansion would worsen the housing shortage, boost mass tourism and raise emissions with activists estimating 10–15 million more visitors a year and large rises in pollution.
- Regional parties ERC, Comuns and the CUP joined the march and called for either halting the project or shifting governance to Catalan authorities while proposing alternatives such as better rail links to Girona and more public-transport investment.
