Overview

• Deputies responded on Oct. 7 after a woman reported she had been beaten and sexually assaulted and that she escaped a residence in Thousand Oaks.
• Investigators identified the suspect as 45-year-old Nathan Christian Toft and said the victim had been tied up and confined by force inside his home on Helecho Court.
• Detectives obtained and served a search warrant, found Toft inside the residence and arrested him.
• Toft was booked on multiple felony counts including kidnapping, false imprisonment, domestic violence, torture, rape and criminal threats, with bail set at $1,000,000.
• Authorities said there was a prior relationship between the suspect and the victim and asked anyone with information to contact the Thousand Oaks Sexual Assault Unit or Crime Stoppers.
