Thorpedo Anna Named Horse of the Year at Eclipse Awards

The 3-year-old filly, trained by Ken McPeek, is only the second in her category to win the top honor, alongside a strong showing by California-based horses.

• She also secured the title of Champion 3-Year-Old Filly after a season featuring six Grade 1 victories, including the Kentucky Oaks, and a second-place finish in the Travers Stakes.
• California-based horses made a notable comeback this year, with National Treasure, Citizen Bull, and Straight No Chaser winning divisional awards after a challenging period for the state's racing industry.
• Flavien Prat broke the record for graded stakes victories in a year and was named Outstanding Jockey, while Chad Brown won his fifth Trainer of the Year award, narrowly edging out McPeek.
• Other major winners included Sierra Leone as Champion 3-Year-Old Male, Idiomatic as Older Dirt Female, and Godolphin LLC as both Outstanding Owner and Breeder for the fifth consecutive year.
