Overview

• The 26-acre waterfront development is anchored by Thomson Hospital Iskandariah, opening with 500 beds and capacity to expand to 1,000.
• Phase one pairs initial hospital facilities with a 47-storey luxury residential tower, with a five-star hotel, specialist suites, aged-care and a life-sciences tower included in the masterplan.
• Construction is slated to begin in 2026, with first openings timed to the Johor Bahru–Singapore RTS Link’s expected start at end-2026 and phase-one completion targeted within about four years.
• The site’s proximity to the RTS Bukit Chagar station and nearby ferry terminals is intended to enable cross-border patient access and medical travel.
• Thomson Medical estimates more than 1,200 jobs in the first phase, while officials project the SEZ will attract around 50 projects and create roughly 20,000 skilled jobs over five years.
