Thomas Tuchel Adds Chelsea's Henrique Hilário to England Coaching Staff

The former Chelsea goalkeeper and coach will join Tuchel's backroom team as goalkeeping coach starting January 1, 2025.

Henrique Hilário, Chelsea's long-serving goalkeeping coach, has resigned to join Thomas Tuchel's England staff as goalkeeping coach.
Hilário's departure ends an 18-year tenure at Chelsea, where he served both as a player and coach, including a Champions League-winning stint under Tuchel.
Tuchel, set to begin his role as England manager on January 1, has also recruited former Chelsea staff Anthony Barry and James Melbourne for his streamlined backroom team.
The FA is expected to confirm Tuchel's full coaching team later, with discussions underway about including a BAME coach in line with an existing diversity program.
Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has indicated the club is unlikely to replace Hilário, citing a robust goalkeeping coaching staff already in place.
