‘This Is Spinal Tap’ Sequel Set for September Theatrical Release

Rob Reiner returns to direct and star alongside the original cast, with celebrity cameos and a restored version of the original film also planned.

Spinal Tap II: The End Continues will premiere in theaters on September 12, distributed by Bleecker Street.
Rob Reiner reprises his role as director and in-film documentarian Marty DiBergi, with Christopher Guest, Michael McKean, and Harry Shearer returning as the band members.
The sequel follows the fictional heavy metal band reuniting after a 15-year hiatus for one final concert, with much of the film expected to be improvised.
Confirmed celebrity cameos include Elton John, Paul McCartney, Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, and drummers Chad Smith and Lars Ulrich.
A newly restored version of the original 1984 cult classic will also be released in theaters this summer, followed by digital and streaming availability.
