Third Suspect Charged in Bradford House Fire That Killed Mother and Three Children

Sharaz Ali, 39, faces murder and attempted murder charges following the August 2024 blaze that claimed four lives.

Sharaz Ali, 39, has been charged with four counts of murder and one count of attempted murder in connection with a house fire in Bradford last August.
The fire killed Bryonie Gawith, 29, and her three children, Denisty, 9, Oscar, 5, and Aubree, 22 months, while her sister Antonia Gawith survived the incident.
Two other suspects, Mohammed Shabir, 44, and Calum Sunderland, 25, have already pleaded not guilty to the charges and are scheduled to stand trial starting Tuesday.
Ali, initially hospitalized in critical condition following the fire, has shown significant recovery and is expected to be fit to stand trial by the end of the year.
Prosecutors are seeking to delay the trial of Shabir and Sunderland so that all three defendants can be tried together.
