Overview
- Organized by NALSA under CJI B.R. Gavai and Justice Surya Kant, the drive ran across taluks, districts and high courts in 29 states and 8 Union Territories, with Rajasthan scheduled to hold its session in October.
- Preliminary settlements exceeded ₹7,817.62 crore, covering both pre-litigation and pending matters such as bank recoveries, motor accident claims, cheque dishonour cases, labour disputes and other civil issues.
- Punjab reported 4.50 lakh cases settled statewide through 447 benches, according to the Punjab State Legal Services Authority.
- Maharashtra highlights included Pune disposing of 1.45 lakh matters with ₹665.44 crore settled and Thane resolving 55,981 cases with awards worth ₹205 crore.
- Other reported outcomes included Madhya Pradesh’s 94,344 pre-litigation and 47,029 pending cases settled, Mohali’s 21,192 disposals, and 143 settlements at the Punjab & Haryana High Court awarding about ₹6.26 crore.
