Third Lawsuit Filed Against Panera Over Caffeinated Lemonade
Woman claims drink caused her 'permanent' heart issues
- Panera Bread is facing a third lawsuit over its highly caffeinated Charged Lemonade drinks, this time from a 28-year-old woman who claims the drinks caused her 'permanent' heart issues.
- The woman, Lauren Skerritt, alleges she began experiencing symptoms such as dizziness and heart palpitations after drinking a little over two of the caffeine drinks.
- Skerritt, who was previously healthy and physically active, has been diagnosed with atrial fibrillation, a serious heart condition, and is now on medication to control her symptoms.
- Two previous lawsuits, filed in October and December, blamed the Charged Lemonade drinks for the deaths of a 21-year-old college student and a 46-year-old Florida man.
- Despite the lawsuits, Panera has denied culpability and stands by the safety of its products.
