Third Installment of ARD's 'Kurzschluss' Series Premieres December 30

Anke Engelke and Matthias Brandt return for another bittersweet New Year's Eve tale as Bettina and Martin in 'Kurzschluss hoch drei.'

The third short film in the 'Kurzschluss' series, titled 'Kurzschluss hoch drei,' will air on December 30 at 11:25 PM on ARD and be available on the ARD Mediathek starting December 29.
The series, written by Claudius Pläging, follows the evolving relationship of Bettina and Martin, portrayed by Anke Engelke and Matthias Brandt, during consecutive New Year's Eve mishaps.
This installment sees Bettina visiting Martin in Berlin, where the pair once again find themselves in an awkward and uncomfortable situation on New Year's Eve due to a misstep.
The first two installments, 'Kurzschluss' (2022) and 'Der zweite Kurzschluss' (2023), will be rebroadcast on December 29 and aired back-to-back on December 31 on WDR.
Critics note the third film leans more on subtle interpersonal drama than the comedic elements of previous entries, showcasing the actors' nuanced performances.
