Third Arrest Made in Philadelphia Bus Stop Shooting

A third suspect has been arrested in connection with the shooting of eight teenagers at a Northeast Philadelphia bus stop, with a fourth person still at large.

  • A 19-year-old was arrested on Tuesday, following the earlier arrests of Jamaal Tucker and Ahnile Buggs, both 18, who are charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, and related crimes.
  • The shooting occurred last Wednesday at Rising Sun and Cottman Avenues, injuring eight high school students.
  • Authorities have recovered a fully loaded, fully automatic weapon matching evidence found at the scene.
  • Two of the victims were critically injured, but all are now in stable condition.
  • The city's leadership, including Mayor Cherelle Parker and Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel, has pledged to focus on prevention, intervention, and enforcement to address the spate of transit crime.
