‘Theresa Wolff’ Bows ‘Nebel’ as Latest Nina Gummich Film as ZDF’s ‘Thüringenkrimi’ Moves Forward

The franchise shifts to an ensemble Thuringia crime format with episodes already shot and a launch targeted for 2026.

Overview

  • ZDF airs the seventh film, Nebel, on Saturday, November 29 at 20:15, presented as the for-now last installment featuring Nina Gummich.
  • Gummich has reportedly returned to set with her original team for new Thüringenkrimi filming after a first clapper in mid-November.
  • Emily Cox had been lined up to succeed Gummich, filmed two episodes partly during pregnancy, and is currently on maternity leave with broadcast dates unannounced.
  • ZDF and Ziegler Film are reworking the series as a Thüringenkrimi spin-off led by Sahin Eryilmaz and Peter Schneider, with Emily Cox and Golo Euler joining the ensemble.
  • Two spin-off episodes are completed, a third is in production, and ZDF says the new run is planned for 2026 with exact dates to come; the original exits were at the actors’ request.
