Thea Minyan Bjoerseth Suffers Severe Crash During Ljubno Ski Jumping Event

The Norwegian athlete's record-breaking performance ended in a serious fall, overshadowing Selina Freitag's second-place finish.

Thea Minyan Bjoerseth, leading the competition, fell during her second jump at the World Cup ski jumping event in Ljubno, Slovenia.
She sustained injuries to her left knee and elbow and was transported to a hospital in Ljubljana for further evaluation, including X-rays and an MRI.
Bjoerseth had set a new hill record with a 97-meter jump in her first round, and her second jump of 94.5 meters would have secured her victory without the fall.
Despite the crash, Bjoerseth finished in third place, while Slovenia's Nika Prevc won and Germany's Selina Freitag secured second place, bolstering her World Championship ambitions.
Other notable performances included Katharina Schmid's climb from ninth to seventh place and Luisa Görlich's strong return to competition after recovering from a knee injury.
