Overview
- Reports published on Monday, August 10, 2026 say the season was removed from Netflix’s 2026 promotional pages and appears listed for 2027 by What’s on Netflix.
- Netflix has not issued an official statement or given a new release window for the fifth season.
- Production sources say filming for season 5 wrapped in late 2025 after being shot back-to-back with season 4, which raises questions about why the launch would slip.
- Netflix’s TUDUM says season 5 will complete Andrzej Sapkowski’s adaptation and principal cast members including Liam Hemsworth, Freya Allan, and Anya Chalotra are expected to return.
- Outlets and commentators suggest extended VFX work or a desire to avoid crowded late-2026 releases could explain the move, and the delay may increase scrutiny after season 4’s poor reviews so fans and creators will be watching for an official confirmation and a 2027 date.
