  • The demo ran at a locked 60 frames per second with ray tracing on a standard PlayStation 5, marking CD Projekt Red’s shift from its in-house REDengine to Unreal Engine 5.6.
  • Unreal Engine 5.6 features highlighted include Nanite Foliage for dense, adaptive vegetation, Fast Geometry Streaming for near-instant world loading and an animation framework supporting over 300 active NPCs.
  • Multi-character motion matching and the Unreal Chaos Flesh Solver delivered seamless synchronization and realistic muscle simulation for Ciri and her horse Kelpie.
  • Attendees saw an in-engine sequence of Ciri hunting a monster through Kovir’s snowbound peaks, traversing Valdrest’s market and surveying the canals of Lan Exeter.
  • CD Projekt Red confirmed The Witcher 4 remains in development, will not launch before 2027 and serves as the opening chapter of a new trilogy under its partnership with Epic Games.
