• Mayor Olivia Chow proclaimed July 26–27 as “The Weeknd Weekend” and awarded Abel Tesfaye the Key to the City on July 26 to honor his impact on Toronto’s cultural landscape.
• Tesfaye’s four concerts at Rogers Centre—July 27–28 and August 7–8—are his first shows at the venue since September 2022 and have drawn sold-out crowds.
• The residency’s opening night featured high-production staging, masked performers and fan-favorite hits that underscore his journey from Scarborough mixtapes to global superstardom.
• Following his civic recognition, Tesfaye has begun implementing philanthropic pledges with local partners—including the Boys & Girls Club of West Scarborough and the Scarborough Health Network—to revitalize community spaces and expand arts and health programs.
