The Umbrella Academy Returns With New Comic Series 'Plan B'

Creators Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá explore the Sparrows in their first comic release in six years, debuting June 11.

The new series, titled 'The Umbrella Academy: Plan B,' will focus on the Sparrows, a rival group of super-powered siblings introduced in the comics and expanded in the Netflix adaptation.
Creators Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá are co-writing the six-issue series, with Bá also serving as illustrator, joined by colorist Dave Stewart and letterer Nate Piekos.
The storyline follows the aftermath of 'Hotel Oblivion,' where the Umbrella Academy faces their most personal and dangerous challenge yet: their estranged siblings, the Sparrows.
The comic will feature six variant covers by artists including Fabio Moon, Mike del Mundo, and Jill Thompson, with the first issue available for pre-order at $4.99.
Way and Bá emphasize that while the Sparrows appeared in the Netflix series, the new comic will offer a fresh and unique perspective true to the original medium.
