The Raja Saab Soars on Day 1, Slides on Day 2 as Makers Add Scenes and Tease Sequel

A star-driven launch concentrated in Telugu states now faces a steep Saturday drop on mixed word-of-mouth.

Overview

  • Industry tracker Sacnilk estimates an India opening of about Rs 45 crore net, with Rs 9.15 crore from paid previews lifting the Day 1 opening to Rs 54.15 crore and pushing the worldwide tally past Rs 100 crore with roughly Rs 26 crore from overseas.
  • Day 2 collections fell sharply to an estimated Rs 27.83 crore in India, a drop of about 48% from Friday, taking the two-day India net to roughly Rs 90.73 crore.
  • Demand was heavily concentrated in the Telugu-speaking markets, which logged strong Day 1 occupancies above 57%, while the Hindi version posted far lower turnout and other languages remained muted.
  • Responding to criticism over missing content, director Maruthi said new footage, including an 8–9 minute sequence in the second half featuring Prabhas in an older look, was incorporated into prints from Saturday evening shows.
  • End credits confirm a follow-up titled The Raja Saab: Circus 1935, as trade reports peg the budget near Rs 400–450 crore and note that sustainability now depends on weekend holds, overseas performance and downstream rights.
