Overview
- The Lowdown premiered its second season on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, with the first two episodes available on FX and Hulu.
- Season 2 shifts from last year’s Native land storyline to a missing-inmate case that exposes alleged corruption and systemic problems inside Oklahoma’s prison system.
- Ethan Hawke returns as Lee Raybon, the show’s self-described “truthstorian” whose investigative work and messy personal life anchor the season.
- Betty Gilpin joins as Ginger, a public defender whose missing client pulls Lee into the new probe, and Tommy Lee Jones appears as Lee’s estranged father, increasing emotional stakes.
- Early reviews praise the series’ regional voice, humor, and performances while noting some structural unevenness in subplots, and the season builds on creator Sterlin Harjo and Hawke’s collaborative, socially minded approach from Season 1.
