‘The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim’ Hits Digital Platforms 14 Days After Theatrical Debut

The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim will be available for purchase on digital platforms starting Friday, December 27, just two weeks after its theatrical release.
The film, set 183 years before the original trilogy, follows Héra, daughter of King Helm Hammerhand, as she leads Rohan’s resistance against a vengeful enemy.
Despite a $30 million budget, the movie grossed only $15.3 million globally, facing stiff competition from other holiday releases.
Directed by Kenji Kamiyama, the anime features voice performances by Brian Cox, Gaia Wise, and Miranda Otto, who reprises her role as Éowyn as the narrator.
The digital release includes exclusive features such as behind-the-scenes content and a focus on the creative fusion of Middle-earth and anime.
