The Lord of the Rings’ Extended Editions Return to Theaters for 25th Anniversary in January 2026

  • Fathom Entertainment and Warner Bros. will present all three extended editions first in DBOX from January 16–19, followed by standard showings January 23–25.
  • A new 25th‑anniversary logo and trailer accompany the theatrical return as part of the commemorative rollout.
  • Participating theaters will sell limited‑edition concessions, including AMC popcorn buckets with Middle‑earth maps and Regal or independent buckets with a One Ring design.
  • The extended cuts run about 11.5 hours in total, compared with a little over nine hours for the original theatrical versions.
