Hollywood Meets Wrestling in Von Erich Family Biopic

Zac Efron, Jeremy Allen White, and Stanley Simons navigate wrestling terminology and physical cues in their roles, with Efron expressing gratitude for the opportunity to portray Kevin Von Erich.

The Iron Claw, a film about the real-life Von Erich brothers' rise in professional wrestling, is currently in theaters. The movie explores the family's wrestling dynasty and the tragedies they faced, known as the 'Von Erich curse'.
The cast includes Hollywood stars Zac Efron, Jeremy Allen White, and Stanley Simons, who had to learn wrestling terminology and physical cues for their roles. Wrestling legend Chavo Guerrero Jr. coached the actors for the wrestling scenes.
Zac Efron, who portrays Kevin Von Erich, has expressed gratitude for the opportunity to share Kevin's story. Efron met Kevin at the film's premiere and has spoken about his motivation to make Kevin proud with his portrayal.
The film also features AEW World Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman in his feature film debut, playing Lance Von Erich. Other wrestling stars, including Chavo Guerrero Jr. and Ryan Nemeth, also appear in the film.
The Iron Claw was released in US cinemas on 22nd December 2023 and is set to be released in the UK on 9th February 2024. A streaming date has not yet been announced.
