'The Eras Tour' Set for New Year's Eve Release in China

Taylor Swift's concert movie, 'The Eras Tour', is set to release in China on December 31, marking its entry into the last major market.
The movie has already grossed over $250 million worldwide, becoming the second highest grossing concert movie after Michael Jackson’s 'This Is It'.
Alibaba Pictures acquired the rights to the movie from Trafalgar Releasing and will release it in partnership with the state distributor, China Film Group.
The release in China is notable as it will be the first time a concert film will be featured in Imax in the country, with the movie set to play across the entirety of the Imax China network.
Despite the movie being available online, which could impact box office prospects due to piracy, Swift's significant fanbase in China, known as 'Meimeis', is expected to support the theatrical release.
