'The Count of Monte Cristo' Leads 2025 César Award Nominations

The French adaptation of Alexandre Dumas' classic novel receives 14 nominations, with 'Beating Hearts' and 'Emilia Pérez' close behind.

The 50th César Awards ceremony will take place on February 28, 2025, at the Olympia concert hall in Paris.
'The Count of Monte Cristo,' a high-budget adaptation directed by Matthieu Delaporte and Alexandre de La Patellière, leads with 14 nominations, including Best Film and Best Director.
'Beating Hearts,' a modern retelling of Romeo and Juliet directed by Gilles Lellouche, follows with 13 nominations, including acting nods for François Civil and Adèle Exarchopoulos.
'Emilia Pérez,' Jacques Audiard's genre-bending musical, earned 12 nominations and has also gained significant momentum in international award circuits, including 13 Oscar nominations.
Honorary César Awards will be presented to American actress Julia Roberts and Greek filmmaker Costa-Gavras during the ceremony.
