George Kresge Jr., famously known as The Amazing Kreskin, passed away at his home in Caldwell, New Jersey, at the age of 89, with no cause of death disclosed.
Kreskin gained fame in the 1960s and 1970s through his mentalist performances, including his signature act of locating hidden paychecks, and numerous television appearances.
A frequent guest on 'The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson,' Kreskin appeared 88 times, and Carson is believed to have drawn inspiration from him for the character Carnac the Magnificent.
He hosted two television programs, 'The Amazing World of Kreskin' and 'The New Kreskin Show,' and authored over 20 books exploring mentalism and suggestion techniques.
Kreskin, who performed over 300 shows annually at his peak, maintained that his abilities were rooted in science and perception, rejecting claims of psychic or supernatural powers.
