- The 16-month-old fell from a fourth-floor balcony in Nalasopara, was stabilised locally and referred to Mumbai, but the transfer was trapped for hours on NH-48 and he was declared dead on arrival at a Sasoon Navghar hospital.

- Thane traffic police revised the heavy-vehicle schedule through October 2, allowing movement from 11 am to 5 pm and 10 pm to 6 am, with exemptions for ambulances, fire services, police vans and oxygen carriers.
- New entry controls include bans at Khanivade Toll Plaza, Shirsat Phata, Chinchoti Naka and near Fountain Hotel, alongside enforcement against roadside parking by trucks.
- Residents, activists and a BJP MLA blamed mismanagement and called for green corridors and stricter enforcement, while a July 31 fatal delay on the same corridor highlighted ongoing gaps in emergency access.
