Thane Crime Branch Busts Fake Liquor Racket, Seizes Over 18,000 Bottles

  • Police laid a trap on June 4 near Neruskar Road in Dombivli after a tip-off and intercepted a Mahindra Bolero carrying unlicensed liquor.
  • Officers recovered 18,290 bottles of spurious IMFL alongside printing machines, cartridges, packaging materials and forged batch numbers.
  • Driver Srikant Bhagirath Tokde, his assistant Mandal Vakil Nivas, Ravi Santosh Tiwari and Sanjit Hazari Yadav were arrested and remanded to police custody until June 9.
  • Authorities have charged the four under sections 318(4), 336(2), 336(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and relevant provisions of the Maharashtra Prohibition Act.
