Overview
- Aris announced on Tuesday, September 1 that Thanasis Antetokounmpo has agreed to a two-year contract with a club option for a third season.
- The move brings Thanasis back to Greece and reunites him with brother Kostas on an Aris team that added former NBA players including Khem Birch, Jeremiah Robinson‑Earl and E.J. Liddell.
- Thanasis spent most of his NBA career with the Milwaukee Bucks, was part of their 2021 championship team and played roughly 230 regular‑season games before returning to Europe.
- He missed the 2024–25 season recovering from a torn Achilles and had a limited role in 2025–26, making durability and his expected minutes key questions for Aris this season.
- With Miami reported unlikely to add other Antetokounmpo brothers after acquiring Giannis, the signing signals Aris’s push for experience and fan interest as it prepares for domestic play and the EuroCup.
