- Thames Water says around 33,000 households will be enrolled, saving more than £300 a year on average and over £10 million in total annually.
- Eligibility is determined where water costs exceed 5% of net income using the Policy in Practice platform in partnership with participating boroughs.
- Customers do not need to be in arrears to qualify, and households with existing arrears are being moved onto WaterHelp automatically.
- The expansion follows pilots in Wandsworth and Richmond upon Thames, with Wandsworth reporting more than 1,000 homes receiving reduced bills.
