Overview
- Additional District and Sessions Court Judge J. Vimal convicted seven RSS–BJP activists for the 2008 killing of CPI(M) local secretary K. Latheesh in Thalassery, Kannur.
- The court sentenced each to life imprisonment with concurrent cumulative terms totaling 35 years on four counts and imposed fines of ₹1.40 lakh each.
- Those found guilty are P. Sumith (Kuttan), A. K. Prajeesh Babu (Praji), B. Nithin (Nithu), K. Sanal, Srijesh (Kuttan), Sajeesh (Jeeshu) and V. Jayesh.
- Accused numbers nine to twelve were acquitted for lack of evidence, and the eighth accused died during the trial.
