Thailand to Launch E-Visa System for Indian Nationals Starting January 2025

- Thailand's Royal Thai Embassy in New Delhi has announced the implementation of an electronic visa (e-Visa) system for Indian nationals starting January 1, 2025.
- The e-Visa system will allow applicants to submit visa applications online via the official website, thaievisa.go.th, with an option for offline payment of fees.
- The current 60-day visa exemption for Indian passport holders traveling for tourism or short business purposes will remain in effect until further notice.
- Visa applications under the existing system will be accepted until December 16, 2024, for ordinary passports and December 24, 2024, for diplomatic and official passports.
- Processing time for e-Visa applications is expected to take approximately 14 working days from the date of fee receipt, with visa fees being non-refundable.
