Kanthee, who had a history of participating in risky challenges for money, became unconscious after completing the challenge and was pronounced dead at a local hospital due to alcohol poisoning.
Police arrested two individuals, including Ekachart Meephrom, who admitted to daring Kanthee but denied hiring him; Meephrom faces charges of negligence causing death, punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
Videos of the incident showing partygoers cheering Kanthee on have sparked widespread condemnation on social media, with many criticizing the culture of such dangerous challenges.
Kanthee, who supported his elderly grandmother, had previously shared on social media that he participated in such challenges to provide for his family despite the risks.
